Hunter as a Horse evokes so many spiritual and biblical images. This one song explodes with them: "seven moons will rise into the sky/ it's a sign/ the world will turn upside down/ it's a sign". I think they're referencing Isaiah 30:26 that says "The light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, on the day the LORD binds up the fracture of His people and heals the bruise He has inflicted". Alright, obviously we're talking about the end of the world. My only qualm with all this is ... Hunter as a Horse frequently reminds us that the world is a scary place - for you and me. Their songs seems to point out the uncomfortable nature of our reality and then exempt themselves from its consequences. "I won't fear these dead stars anymore/ because I am protected from the golden dawn" ... wait, why are you above fear? What about your audience? Especially if you're implying you're being set free simply because you're a good observer - your audience is observing your music ... so ... can you take us with you?

There is a unique sensitivity to the production of this track that does an amazing job of framing the vocal delivery. Utterly unique but oddly familiar and comforting.
