Jamie-Rose has announced her Debut EP; Hands Off. Her single from the EP was released on March 4th and is now available on all platforms. After venturing out to Canada, Jamie has been involved in multiple projects with producer, Malikai Motion, and duo, Sound of Kalima.
Hands Off embraces her eccentric but euphonious voice. Through the idiosyncrasy of her sweet but savage songwriting techniques accompanied by RnB beats, Jamie-Rose has successfully been able to define her sound as ‘Indie RnB’ within this EP. The EP includes three other songs that will follow her creative and experimental writing style.
Prior to Hands Off, Jamie-Rose self produced 'Agnes Water’; a very minimalistic song created without a laptop and without anything but her voice, fingers and a seat used as a drum. Jamie says, "'Agnes Water' has connected with so many different people on so many different levels. I was so surprised with the flow of emails, messages, comments, reposts and remixes on different social forums. When I created it, I was literally at an all-time-low with music. My guitar broke, I didn't even own a laptop and I didn't have the money to fix my guitar and buy a microphone as well so I turned to the only thing I could use. My iPhone! Everything you hear in this track was produced on my iPhone using GarageBand and my apple earphones as my mic."
Growing up, Jamie was exposed to artists like The Cat Empire, Ben Howard, N.E.R.D., Aretha Franklin and Daughter and took inspiration when writing and composing her own music. It wasn’t until making the move to Canada, that the singer/songwriter put down her guitar and started to find her sound - a incandescent indie, electric r&b with a notable edgy vocal resonance.
