I love the lyrics. Highly relatable once again. This line especially: "But something I noticed internally Like I didn't believe in God but God believe in me Was this a feeling from the divine Or something I made up in my mind?" I am conservative baptist turned liberal mennonite, with high emphasis on doing good in our community whether god exists or not. Sometimes I wonder if I am an atheist, and sometimes I wonder if I am agnostic. But, I digress.... you remind me of "MewithoutYou". You are unique in your own way, but your sound is somehow very familiar.
  • Don't

    lgspencer>Don't by Pocket Vinyl

I dig this so much. Thanks for sharing your experience. I grew up in a conservative baptist home, and I imagine many of my old friends think I'm destined for hell as well, even though they haven't said it to me. My mother once told me that the devil was inside of me, after she learned that I started drinking after leaving home (I was 22 at the time). I value science far more than religion now, and I think I can't hide it. Anyway, I say that to say that I feel like I can relate. I love the raw emotion in this song. Can't wait to hear the rest!

Fellow Caveman and Cavewomen....let us gather together and press these our fellow cavemen into the wax they so richly deserve!
  • Saloon Song

Pocket Vinyl>Saloon Song by Pocket Vinyl

I first wrote this song in a small cabin on an out of tune piano nearly a decade ago. It's probably one of the most "fun" songs.  More or less an excuse to have a bunch of fancy fingering.

I dig it. Got a real 80's sound IMO. All things old are new again, and I love it. I have a soft spot for synthesizers.

  • I Hear Colors

Pocket Vinyl>I Hear Colors by Pocket Vinyl

This was our first song that I remember being "requested" when we'd return to towns on our earliest tours. I wrote it while working in South Korea several years ago teaching English, and it's very basically about synesthesia, specifically the kind where some people can hear something and it affects their vision in some way.  I'm fascinated by that idea.  One fan had this and told me when they listened to this studio version, they saw green and gray hues swirling together with blue polka dots scattered throughout.  To me, that sounds like a bit like a screensaver.
  • Blind Man's Dream

quizkid>Blind Man's Dream by Civil Holdup

Another cd I had to buy. Prefer wax!
  • Down the River

quizkid>Down the River by Civil Holdup

Civil Holdup's Blind Man's Dream deserves your attention - please give it a listen. It has been available since 8/20/2017 and should be on the FeedBand label.  Listen and support Civil Holdup if you are so inclined.  Thanks!
