This is fantastic! Definitely want a record of this. Immediately hooked me. We need more folk-punk around here! The poetry references are great.

Definitely think the lyrics run circles around the sonic appeal of the song. It's touching on the burden of education/ information. That's something we all wrestle with ... the curious mind is never satisfied. So, do you keep "reading lots of books absorbing all this information" for "facts and stats and anecdotes that [you]'ll do nothing with"? Or, say f*** it and go out with your friends? It's a shame this topic isn't raised in a more listenable song. That's the plight of a songwriter, though - lots to get across in a short amount of time. Hope these guys hone their sound.

It's all about timing and perspective and emotion though really.
I could have easily heard this song a year ago and thought, "woah, total garbage!"
Well maybe not that harsh... but you get the idea.
Tonight, however, it socked me right in the guts because of all kinds of personal stuff going on and it just reached back as the 90s and curbstomped some of the stuff that needed it and made me wanna scream and shout and dance with reckless abandon about other stuff.
I think I'll listen another time or 5.
